Minnesota Timberwolves coach Kevin McHale was ejected after the first quarter Saturday night after drawing two technical fouls from referee Sean Corbin.

McHale had argued with Corbin periodically through the first quarter, especially when Al Jefferson was called for traveling on what appeared to be a legal jump-stop.

The quarter ended on a missed shot from Wolves swingman Mike Miller, who argued that he was hit on the elbow on the play. McHale took up Miller’s cause as both teams went to the bench and was whistled for the first technical foul.

McHale continued to plead his case a few minutes later and was given another technical foul and his first ejection of the season.

Miller gave McHale a high-five as he left the court with the Wolves down 28-19.

Assistant coach Jerry Sichting took over in McHale’s place.
