When the calendar flipped over to 2009, something clicked on with the Timberwolves.

Saturday’s victory over the Bucks (in which it had to rally from 13 down) gave Minnesota its first five-game winning streak since Dec. 2005. The Wolves are unbeaten in 2009 after a 4-23 start.

“That just says that we’re a team and we’re starting to come together,” Randy Foye said.

What made Saturday’s victory impressive were the stars: Rodney Carney scored 22 points while Sebastian Telfair added 17 points and 11 assists.

It’ll still be difficult for Minnesota to make the playoffs in the ultra-competitive West, but this streak is a big positive for one of the youngest teams in the league.
