Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns will play an exhibition game against the Portland Trail Blazers at GM Place on Oct. 22, Canucks Sports and Entertainment said in a release Wednesday.

Among the Phoenix players expected to join Nash, the two-time NBA most valuable player who grew up in Victoria, are Grant Hill and Amare Stoudemire.

Leading the Blazers will be Brandon Roy, the former NBA first overall pick who was the 2007 rookie of the year.

The Suns played an exhibition game against the Seattle SuperSonics at GM Place in October of 2007.

Canucks Sports and Entertainment will use partial proceeds from the game to make a donation to the Steve Nash Foundation, the release said.

Nash also plans to host a celebrity soccer match in Vancouver on Sept. 19.
